I Shot A Ballerina Today With A Camera In A Garage.

Yes I know what you’re thinking. Am I a character from the game or movie Clue? The answer is no although that sounds like a blast. Today I had the distinct pleasure of shooting a beautiful young ballerina (Roxana) along side my friend Natalie the owner of Yog’Arts a fusion Yoga / Photography / Arts collective. This was a test shoot for me and I wanted to try something a little different so I grabbed a lens out of my bag I haven’t used in a while. The Sigma 85mm f1.4. I normally favor the 70-200 f2.8 but today was an 85 kind of day. Once I began shooting I remembered why I love this lens and plan on using it a lot more. Also different on this shoot is my processing. I wanted to go for a low contrast film look and used VSCO presets to help me achieve what I was looking for and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Big thanks to our incredible model and beautiful prima ballerina Roxana, Natalie of course as well, and most importantly Roosevelt Field Mall Security for not kicking us out of the parking structure. Much appreciated boys lol.

On to the images.
